Although Comrie is attractive to teams looking for a playoff-tested center, he is well-liked by coach Ted Nolan and general manager Garth Snow, who has offered contract extensions to him and center Josef Vasicek. (**)
 
Toronto still is trying to unload defenseman Bryan McCabe, who likely would waive his no-trade clause only to return to the Islanders. But it won't happen unless interim general manager Cliff Fletcher includes the Maple Leafs' first-round pick as part of any deal. (***)
